The Arkhangelsk Variation — arising after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a6 4.Ba4 Nf6 5.0-0 b5 6.Bb3 followed by ...Bb7 and/or ...Bc5 — is one of the most powerful and flexible Black weapons in the Ruy Lopez.
