The Story Behind the Photos
Kodak, being a film company, brought in professional photographers to document Fischer's visit — then filed the photos straight into their archives, unseen for decades. When Kodak was winding down, an archivist's chess-loving friend stumbled across the folder and brought it to the Rochester Chess Center. Neither he nor his dad knew what they had.
For years the photos sat forgotten. When we rediscovered them, early prints didn't do them justice — pixelated and grainy. So we had them printed on museum-quality canvas. The result? Crisp, timeless images that look like they were taken yesterday.
Everyone who sees them wants one.
