Rochester Player in Chess Life !!!!
Congratulations to Daniel Johnston, one of our top scholastic players for getting his picture in Chess Life, a magazine put out by the United States Chess Federation.

Daniel has been on a tear through the ranks the past few months. Since May he has gained over 375 ratings points! This does not even include his devastating win over our chess center founder Ron Lohrman in league this Monday.

Remember this is the kid who at the SuperNationals was the only player in GM Shabalov's simuls to actually beat him. GM Shabalov handed out a few draws but he did not lose to any other player. Daniel is a huge fan of Roman's Lab DVD's. The funny thing is that the GM played into a line in one of Romans dvds that was a complete loss and Daniel picked up on this.
So next time you see this guy across the board from you watch out!
