Antique Chess Set with Bakelite Checkers and Board
This wonderful old chess set comes with a tri-fold cork board and Bakelite checkers. These are very rare. Finding anything bakelite does not happen often. The Set is Red and White with a 2.25" King. Classic Knights, great rooks, and overall nice set. The checkers are bakelite. Bakelite is a early plastic that is very collectible. The checkers are in Red and Yellow. The yellow has a hint of a dark swirl in some of the pieces. The Board is 1.25" squares on cork. This board you can tell has been in someone's basement for a while so it has a strong musty odor. We are including it because it came with the set. For play our company is adding a small wood veneer board to display on. | |||||||
